Terms of service
The short, honest version.

What CallCapsule is
CallCapsule lets you make video calls that, with everyone's agreement, are recorded and kept in a private family archive. It is operated from the EU and offered worldwide.
Your account
- You sign in with your email. Keep access to that inbox — it is how you prove the account is yours.
- You must be 16 or older to create an account. People you call need no account.
Recording responsibly
- Recording starts only after everyone on the call agrees, every time. Do not attempt to record anyone without their knowledge; besides being against these terms, it may be illegal where you or they live.
- You are responsible for complying with the recording-consent laws that apply to you and the people you call.
- When recording someone who cannot consent for themselves, you must have the agreement of their parent or legal guardian.
Your content stays yours
- You (and your family) own your recordings. We claim no rights over them beyond what is technically required to store, process, and play them back for you.
- You can export everything, in standard formats, at any time, at no charge.
- If we ever discontinue the service, we will give at least 90 days' notice and keep export available throughout.
Paying for it
- Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay.
- 30-day money-back guarantee: if CallCapsule isn't what we promised, tell us within 30 days of purchase and we refund you in full.
- If a first paid recording fails through our fault, we refund, no argument.
- If a subscription lapses, your archive becomes read-only. It is not deleted, and export keeps working.
Fair use
Do not use CallCapsule to harass, to record people covertly, to store content that is illegal, or to resell the service. We can suspend accounts that do, and in serious cases we will report them.
The service, realistically
We work hard to keep everything running and your recordings safe, and we keep backups. But no online service can promise perfection, and CallCapsule is provided "as is" to the extent the law allows. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.
Changes
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will email you before the change takes effect.
